«Each of her paintings meticulously demonstrates this artist’s rigor as she does not hesitate to dramatize her composition by playing on different color keys. Denise Harvey Desroches is a painter in watercolor with great talent.»

It first started ...
35 years ago. Born in La Tuque (Haute-Mauricie) I was a teacher and in my spare time, I started to paint to decorate my home for the fun of it and finally recognized that art painting had become a daily action...and loved it.
I first began with oil before choosing watercolor as a medium.
After many workshops in art with different teachers, I quit them so as not to be under their influence any more . I refuse to accept pre-established norms. For me an artist is a creator, he paints what he wants, whenever he wants and the way he wants to. I transcend laws, perspectives, shapes and colors. I dare, I’m fearless. I have no restraints. Most of the time my art stands itself between «abstraction and figurative.»
I love to joke about my paintings saying hat they are kind of «Abstract figuratives» or figurative abstractions»

Watercolor offers me a permanent challenge . Some or no coming backs.

I also do casein, which is a medium that dries very quickly and gives a milky look to the painting, I love those two mediums, but I confess having

...a preference for watercolor.
